MEDsan’s Rapid Antibody Test User Data Shows Promising Accuracy Results

MEDsan have been gathering data from users of their rapid antibody tests and based on the results, we are able to report the findings below.

  • Relative sensitivity >98%
  • Relative specificity >99%

These are very encouraging results and suggest the tests are more accurate than previous laboratory test results.

Initial laboratory test results conducted on MEDsan’s tests demonstrated a sensitivity of more than 96%, a specificity of 100% with an overall accuracy of 99%. In addition, MEDsan has also conducted its own survey which showed an actual clinical sensitivity of more than 97%, with over 3000 participants. From the various tests undertaken, it’s clear that MEDsan’s rapid antibody tests are amongst the most accurate available.

MEDsan are committed to being proactive in the gathering of essential data in the fight against coronavirus. All users of MEDsan’s rapid antibody tests are encouraged to complete a survey to input their results. The survey collects data on profession, location, reason for taking the test, age, smoking status, height, weight and pre-existing health conditions.

Over 50 million units of MEDsan’s rapid antibody tests are sold to Governments, hospitals and businesses around the world. Over 50% of users are nurses. The primary reason for using a MEDsan rapid antibody test is for occupational safety, to ensure staff are free from infection to keep workplaces safe.

The Government of Monaco are using MEDsan’s rapid antibody tests in its campaign to test the entire population. Before committing to the MEDsan tests, the Government of Monaco had them tested in two different laboratories to ensure their accuracy. Didier Gamerdinger, Monaco’s minister of social affairs and health said “The MEDsan test we use is assembled in Germany. We obtained it from the Monaco Red Cross. We had it tested in two laboratories. Result – it works. And it’s very sensitive. The error rate is extremely low. The test is 98% reliable.”
